Romance Under the Boardwalk Empire

The first season has just ended, and as fans of this wonderful new show from yet another successful and talented “The Sopranos” alum (Terrence Winter), boy, we are in for a treat.
Great writing, acting, production design and not to mention production values, there is only so much more to come to look forward to.  Who knew that Steve Buscemi could not only carry a show as the lead, but kick ass and take names?  Good …

Chuck Versus The Leftovers

Just a few episodes ago, we were introduced to this seasons Big Bad, Alexei Volkoff (played by the former Bond, Timothy Dalton).  His big reveal was saved for the end of the episode, so we weren’t given a lot of time to get to know him for who he really is.  Needless to say, whatever your expectations were, Monday’s episode most likely shattered them.
Team Bartowski captures Chuck’s mother Mary, aka Agent Frost (Linda Hamilton!), which …

Chuck Versus Phase Three Review

Another review so soon?  I guess that’s what happens you don’t space things out evenly!
The show is called Chuck, but for the first half of this episode, it should have been called Sarah.  It was totally her show last night.  Chuck only showed up briefly in the opening having a bizarre, but hilarious, dream involving Sarah and Lester.  It was great hearing the two of them using the shows term of “flashing” so sexually.
Sarah was …

The Walking Dead: Episode 3 Review

Firstly, my apologies for being a bit late on this review. I felt I needed to watch this one twice due to all the personal relationships being re-established in this episode.
I really enjoyed the opening scene with Merle talking about his war experiences. We knew as the audience that he had nobody to converse with and at times I almost felt like he was talking to the Cameraman but his dialogue went between  his ramblings …

Chuck vs. The Fear of Death Review

Chuck. It’s perhaps one of my favorite shows to tune in to. It skillfully meshes comedy, action and drama into a wonderful hour of television. I can think of only a handful of times in the shows 4 seasons where an episode was weak. This past Monday’s episode was not one of the weaker ones.
Opening on the heels of the previous episode, Chuck (played by Zachary Levi) has lost the Intersect, …

Due Date

I love movies like this because they deliver exactly what they advertise. You know what type of movie you are in for and can simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the comedy. I do like movies that require more thought, but occasionally you want the mindless entertainment. This is exactly what I expect from director Todd Phillips. The movie had a plot, a few moments with some heart to it, and …

Megamind

This was a pretty good movie. I just want to make clear that I did enjoy the movie before I get in to a couple issues with the movie industry the movie brought to mind.
First, I really hate when something that should have been a big reveal moment is totally given away by the previews. The writers and creators had a great plot twist (Metro Man didn’t die) that could have been a …

Song from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Harry Dances with Hermione

I saw Harry Potter this weekend and I love it. I’m still collecting my thoughts for a full review but wanted to share something you might find helpful. In the scene where Harry dances with Hermione the song that plays stood out to me so I did some research. Turns out it’s O Children by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Click on the album cover to get the song:
