My Early Muir Owl – a DIY marriage proposal

20 September 2007 194 views No Comment

Using 3D modeling software, a laser cutter, and foam core Chicago designer George Aye crafted a marriage proposal unique enough for over 300,000 views on YouTube.

Update: While they might not comment here, my co-workers had plenty to say about this video (which I sent around as an all staff email.) Best of all was from one Mr. Garratt:

See, there you have a rookie mistake. You set a precedent like that, and what are you going to do for your anniversaries, rent a hot air balloon and have the Ohio State marching band spell out “Happy Anniversary” on the ground below?

I guarantee within two years, he’ll hear the words: “What happened to the man who created a sculpture for me?”

The answer? He’s tired of your nagging and is pounding back three bottles of breath freshener a day as he hits on the women in his office.
